Policy Initiatives

Fingal Chamber's policy is directed by members who identify their business priorities through the biannual Fingal Business Sentiment Survey and input from the Chamber's Business Council.

Our current policy priorities are:

  • Increasing the supply of Housing
  • Increasing the availability of Skills and Talent
  • Improving Public Transport Infrastructure and Services, and tackling Congestion

 

On national matters, Fingal Chamber works with Chambers Ireland and our nationwide network of affiliated Chambers to lobby and represent Irish business interests. Chambers Ireland monitors the policy issues that affect Irish businesses and represents those views to Government.

The primary focus of Chambers Ireland’s Pre-Budget Submission is Housing & Infrastructure.

Our Recommendations include numerous actions to support increased housing supply, including:

  • Vacant property registration and activation
  • Brownfield redevelopment
  • Land value capture
  • Adaptive reuse and repurposing
  • Modern methods of construction
  • Infrastructure and transport

In accordance with the EU’s stated objective to mainstream the Sustainable Development Goals in the European policy framework our recommendations are organised in terms of the individual goals they impact.

Our submission also highlights how co-ordinated action across Government portfolios will be key to delivering on our various, National Development Plan, National Planning Framework, Climate Action Plan, Housing for All etc. we have grouped our recommendations under the five Sustainable Development Goals that Chambers Ireland focuses on including:
