The Journey Begins
In 1994, a group of business leaders in Swords, inspired by a shared vision for a vibrant business community, laid the foundation of what is today known as Fingal Chamber. From its modest beginnings in the small meeting room of the Forte Crest Hotel (now the Maldron Hotel Dublin Airport), the Chamber has grown into a beacon of economic growth and sustainable development.
Milestones of Success
Our story is one of perseverance, growth, and achievement. Here are some key moments that have defined our journey:
- 1994 - 'Swords and District Chamber of Commerce' is established, covering the area from Santry to north of Swords including the airport.
- 1998 - The Chamber open full-time offices, appoint a Chief Executive, Tony Lambert, and are accepted as members of the Chambers Ireland.
- 2000 - Following Fingal County Council's move to Swords, the Chamber changes its name to 'Swords Fingal Chamber of Commerce'.
- 2002 - The first Business Awards Ceremony is held in the Great Southern Hotel, hosted by Miriam O'Callaghan.
- 2004 - The Chamber move into new offices at Chamber Buildings on North Street in Swords.
- 2007 - The Business Awards move to the new conference centre in the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport.
- 2011 - 'D15 Chamber' amalgamates into 'Fingal Dublin Chamber' which is the accredited Chamber for the entire Fingal region.
- 2017 - Tony Lambert retires and Anthony Cooney takes up the role of Chief Executive of the Chamber.
- 2019 - 'Fingal Dublin Chamber Skillnet' launches to support workforce development through accessible, affordable and effective training.
- 2020 - In response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Chamber promotes public health measures and economic supports.
- 2021 - Member's vote to simplify the name to 'Fingal Chamber'.
- 2021 - The Greater Dublin Chamber Alliance partner with Adare Human Resource Management to provide HR supports to members.
- 2022 - The biannual Business Sentiment Survey is established to identify business concerns and steer policy and lobbying efforts.
- 2023 - The Chamber move into new offices at Dublin Airport Central.
- 2024 - 'North Dublin Chamber' amalgamates, further consolidating the Chambers in the region.

Our initiatives, such as the Skillnet, Business Expo, and Community Fund have not only supported local businesses but also contributed to the welfare of our broader community.
