Swords Fingal Chamber welcomes wireless broadband

Ice Broadband, the 24x7 broadband carrier, announced today that it is extending its wireless broadband service to cover Swords, Co. Dublin and its surrounding areas. This follows extensive investment in the infrastructure for the area to ensure all businesses and homes can avail of this quality yet cost-effective service.

The service was launched in the Great Southern Hotel, Dublin Airport on Thursday August 10 by entrepreneur Fran Rooney, Executive Chairman of Ice Broadband, in conjunction with John Browne, Minister of State at the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources.

Chief Executive of Swords Fingal Chamber, Tony Lambert, said: “The provision of a quality wireless broadband service, from a provider of the calibre of Ice Broadband, is a tremendous boost for our local community. Both business and home users will benefit from this quality service.”

Ice Broadband is one of Ireland’s leading broadband providers and provides wireless broadband services to growing suburban and rural areas.

Yvonne Rooney, managing director of Ice Broadband, explains the decision to cater for the Swords region: “Our market research has indicated that there is significant demand for broadband services in the Swords area and we are confident that we can provide full coverage. As with our other rollouts, we ensure that the service is available before we announce it. With the quality service and next to no downtime, we know that Swords people will benefit from this service.”

Ice Broadband’s success is due to quality of service (virtually no downtime) and availability of service (no pre-selling). The fact that the company has also targeted rural communities where the investment is higher and the payback slower, has also won them local loyal converts.

Ice Broadband has invested heavily in hardware, applications and people to deliver a world-class product. The company’s investment in state-of-the-art infrastructure allows it to stand over its guarantee to provide a higher quality service over other providers.

In selecting the best tools for the job, Ice Broadband is capable of delivering a mature offering to its customers. Illustrations of this maturity are to be found in the professionalism employed by the engineers on the ground, who insist on a site visit prior to the conclusion of any sales. This has the result of only signing up customers where there is sufficient strength of signal.

“Our commitment to standards is also reflected in the fact that the network is monitored continuously, every five minutes in fact ensuring true 24x7 coverage and support,” adds Rooney.

The two packages offered by Ice Broadband currently is a regular home user package with 2Mbps download and 256kbps upload. The Home Plus offers a uniform 2Mbps in either direction. Both enjoy the benefits of no line rental, always on, free installation and the option to install Voice over IP (VoIP) services.
