Jock Jordan is New Fingal Dublin Chamber President

Fingal Dublin Chamber is delighted to announce the appointment of Jock Jordan, Group Sales Director with One4all Gift Cards as its new Chamber President.  Bill Kearney, Director of IBM Campus Mulhuddart was appointed as Chamber Vice President.

Jock was formally appointed President at a recent Fingal Dublin Chamber meeting.  He takes the mantle from Guy Thompson, General Manager of Castleknock Hotel, who was President for the past two years.  Accepting the chain of office, Jock said “It is a great honour to become President of Fingal Dublin Chamber of Commerce, representing the business voice for the region.  One4all Gift Cards has been a member of the Chamber since 2003 so we are acutely aware of its importance to our business and the wider community.

“I want to thank Guy Thompson for his personal commitment, dedication and service to the Chamber over the past two years.  I am looking forward to working closely with Chamber CEO, Anthony Cooney to further strengthen our business voice in the region through increased membership and consolidation with other business groups. 

“With serious issues such as Brexit and Metro North on our horizon and the continued importance of Dublin Airport and its economic impact for the region it is imperative we have a strong and growing Chamber.”

Outgoing President, Guy Thompson said he was delighted to represent the Chamber for the past two years. “It has been a great privilege and a wonderful experience to represent businesses in Fingal.  I was particularly pleased to be part of the British Ambassador’s visit to Fingal and the Taiwan Ambassador’s business breakfast last year. I would like to thank Paul Reid and his team in Fingal County Council for their support during my term as president.

“I want to pay tribute to the Chamber Board of Directors, CEO, Council Members and Chamber staff who are so committed and passionate in growing and developing the Chamber.

“Finally, I wish Jock every success during his time as President.  He is a highly respected member of the Chamber with excellent business acumen and he is a fitting President.”

Fingal CEO, Anthony Cooney said he is looking forward to working with the new President in implementing the Chamber strategy for the coming year. “As the economy continues to grow we need to build resilience and prepare for key challenges facing our business. This happens when we establish common areas of challenge and work through these together as a strong Chamber. We will continue to work closely with Fingal County Council CEO, Paul Reid and his team to do our best for businesses in the region.”

As Group Sales Director for One4all Gift Cards, Jock oversees sales of the popular multi-store gift cards through Post Offices, PostPoint outlets, online and through the corporate sales team.  One4all’s B2B division enables businesses to inspire, motivate and engage their staff and customers through tailored rewards and incentives solutions.  This is something Jock is very passionate about and believes strongly in investing in your team and understanding what it is that motivates an individual from education, work-life balance, security, responsibility or monetary rewards.

Jock is married to Aedeen, they have two adult children and live in Rogerstown, Rush.  He is a member of Rush Community First Responders and a member of St. John Ambulance.

Fingal Dublin Chamber, which was founded in 1994 is the region’s largest business organization representing over 350 members and growing.

Paypal win FDI Company of the Year 2017

 

Well done to our member Paypal who scooped the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Company of the Year award at the 2017 Business and Finance Irish Business Awards last Thursday 14th December at The Convention Centre, Dublin. The award recognises the company's contribution to the economy, jobs and reputation of Ireland on the world stage, as well as to the local communiites in which it operates.

Irish Water is working to upgrade the aging water network in Swords which has a long history of bursting and causing significant disruption to customers.

The project will ensure a reliable water supply to householders and businesses within Swords, Malahide and Portmarnock and an overall improvement in the level of service, saving an estimated 44 million litres of water per month.

Works are due to commence in January 2018.

Fingal Dublin Chamber, as a member of the Chambers Ireland network, launched a new brand today,
reflecting their strength and influence as a member of the collaborative network.
