Fingal Dublin Chamber 2007
Annual Golf Classic in Malahide Golf Club

The 12th Annual Golf Classic of Fingal Dublin Chamber took place in Malahide Golf Club on Thursday, 31st May 2007. Teams competed for the magnificent Chamber Perpetual Golf Trophy, sponsored by the Dublin Airport Authority.


The golfers enjoyed a great day of golf in ideal sunny conditions in the wonderfully maintained parkland course in Malahide. The prizes of beautiful selections of wines were, once again, sponsored by Dublin Airport Authority.
After a thrilling finish to the day, golfers anxiously awaited the awarding of the prizes. The winners of the Swords Fingal Chamber Annual Perpetual Golf Trophy was the Clarion Hotel Dublin Airport of 91. The team was led by Andrew O’Neill with Chris Gilmore, Allen Clarke and David Steele.(pictured left with Siobhan Moore, Dublin Airport Authority and Francis Whelan, Chamber President)

Second place on a score of 88 went to the Hertz Europe Service Centre Team of Declan Larkin, James Monaghan, Darragh Byrne and Karl Gregory.(pictured top right with Siobhan Moore, Dublin Airport Authority and Francis Whelan, Chamber President)

Third prize with a score of 86 went the Whelan Corcoran Smith Architects Team led by Stephen Lam with Liam Byrne, Frank Kiernan and Paul Bradshaw.(pictured bottom right with Siobhan Moore, Dublin Airport Authority and Francis Whelan, Chamber President)

Forth place was won by the team from the Old Boro Public House with a score of 86 and led by T.P. Smith with Peter Smith, Mark McClean and Brian Foley.

“This was a really great day for Swords Fingal Chamber with everyone enjoying the wonderful weather and expressing how much they enjoyed the occassion. Special thanks was due to Dublin Airport Authority who have supported and sponsored the Chamber Golf Classic over the past twelve years. As usual the Chamber members strongly supported this annual event.” said Chamber President Francis Whelan at the prize-giving dinner which was very well attended.

Siobhan Moore from Dublin Airport Authority complimented the Chamber on a well organised classic and stated that they were delighted to be involved with events in the local community and particularly so with Swords Fingal Chamber. (pictured right)

Chief Executive, Tony Lambert thanked the many teams and hole sponsors for participating in our 12th Golf Classic . He also thanked Hugh and his catering staff in Malahide Golf Club for the excellent food and George Hurley from Oldhausen for providing a BBQ on the 10th.

Chamber Chief Executive, Tony Lambert was delighted with the day. “This is always a very special day out for Chamber Members and their guests and the great support from the business community is always very heartening” Tony thanked Hugh and his catering staff in Malahide Golf Club for the excellent food and George Hurley from Oldhausen for providing a BBQ on the 10th. Malahide Golf Club are to be congratulated on the wonderful condition of the course. All the golfers commented on the excellent playing conditions.”
